Brief reflections on five experiences

I hope Fall is swell.
It’s good to see you. I’m glad you’re here. This week I escaped from the city, read some letters from a Stoic, learned about Kuwait Dinars, discovered a new flavor, and pondered a new question.

Escape from Kuwait City 🚣
Last weekend, we joined a group of teachers from American International School (AIS) and American United School of Kuwait (AUS) to spend the day at an island in southern Kuwait near the border of Saudi Arabia.
The road trip along the coast ends just north of the Saudi Arabian border.
We jumped on a boat near Al Khiran Resort and cut through waves in the Arabian Gulf for about an hour. We dropped anchor near a small island of sand with a beach you can walk entirely in five minutes. It will never make it into the world’s best beaches conversations, but it will become one of my favorite spots to escape the smothering heat and tall buildings of Kuwait City.
A better version of myself 🔥
This week I learned that the Kuwait Dinar bills vary in size.
The Kuwait Dinar's size increases with its denomination.
Za'atar 🍳
My favorite new seasoning is za'atar. Curious about this seasoning I saw so often, I asked a colleague about it. The next day she brought me a bottle of her homemade Lebanese za'atar.
At this point, I’m sprinkling it on any savory dish. It’s so delicious.
Life's rhythm 🚂
I’m pondering this question, “Can I keep my life’s rhythm no matter the interruption?”
