Brief reflections on five experiences

Hi everyone,
It’s good to see you.
In the past month or so, I interviewed for a new position, listened to the story behind a breakup song, learned that I’m probably not as rational as I think I am, saw my neighborhood from a new perspective, and had some laughs at the way people park their vehicles. I touch on all that below.
I’m glad you’re here.

My hat is in the ring 🤹
Last month, I interviewed for the upcoming Assistant Principal position at my school. That interview sparked a conversation with our superintendent about launching the International Baccalaureate Career-related Program (CP). So now I’m beginning a feasibility study to measure how well the CP meets the needs of our students. And I still have my hat in the ring for the AP role.
Hat tip to Bob and Kathy for helping me prepare for the AP interview.
Call it another lonely day 💔
I appreciate musicians who share with us their work that is not visible, their behind-the-song stories. So, I am thrilled that Lindsey Buckingham breaks down “Go Your Own Way” on Song Exploder.

I remember the evening my uncle Gary gave Rumours to me when I was, I think, 11 years old. Forty years later the album remains on my playlist. Thank you, Gary and Brenda!
Idea I'm thinking about 🤔
Rationality is the ability to counteract these emotional effects, to think instead of react, to open your mind to what is really happening, as opposed to what you are feeling. – Robert Greene, The Laws of Human Nature.
Rooftop view 🐦
From a rooftop birthday party, I enjoyed this view of our apartment building.
From a neighbor's rooftop, you can see our apartment building and school.
How to park 🤣
Driving, by most standards, is reckless around here. I don’t enjoy fearing for my safety, but I am slightly amused by how people park in my neighborhood.
Vehicles parked on sidewalks and in front of driveways with "No Parking" signs.
