Brief reflections on five experiences

I hope all is well. I’m glad you’re here.
This week I listened to Dick Melville, appreciated satire, found a place for my stuff, cheered for Colombia, and hosted visitors.

Dick Melville 🎧
I listened to Dick Melville this week. This is my cousin Terry’s project. We’ve been enjoying music together for many years. Now he has published his own songs on Bandcamp! I love following along as Terry develops a song. So far, my favorites tracks are 3, 4, and 6.

Satire 🤣
Thank you, The Onion, for your spirit lifting satire. By the way, my friend Sam introduced The Onion to me when when we were roommates going to the UofM. Those days, it was only available in print.

Stuff 🗃
Our precious stuff will be in self-storage while we are in Kuwait. Mi-Box will deliver an 8x8 storage container to our house. We’ll fill it up and then they will pick it up and find a place for it in their warehouse. I was impressed that 600 containers can fit into this warehouse pictured below. And I was surprised to learn there are a plenty of self-storage solutions around Buda. Why is there so much need for self-storage?

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!! ⚽
We are thrilled and having a great time cheering on Colombia in the World Cup! Coming up next, we will be cheering for Colombia in the knockout phase on Tuesday, July 3 when they play England.

Family 🤟
My mother and sisters are visiting this week. I love hanging out with them, especially when we are all together. We enjoyed an amazing strawberry rhubarb pie from Texas Pie Company, smooth guitar playing, storytelling country singers at Buck’s Back Yard,  dry cider at Texas Keeper, Tex Mex lunch along Riverwalk in San Antonio, live fiddle playing music, food, and sightseeing in Gruen Historic District, the swimming hole at McKinney Falls State Park, peppery brisket and ribs at Freedmen’s, and card games at our dinner table. We will miss them dearly when they fly home on Tuesday.
